Fortnite s Now-Deleted New Trailer Included A Very Inapporpriate Username

the simpsons version of fortnite peely thinking. Epic Games 4

Josh has been playing video games for longer than he can remember, kicking things off with a Master System before upgrading to a Mega Drive. Covering the industry since 2018, if a game has a strong story – or even better, the decisions you make determine the course of that story – odds are he’s going to like it. Or, you know, put Sonic or Pikachu on the cover and that’ll get his attention too.

Epic Games dropped a new trailer for Fortnite over the weekend in an attempt to convince more people to try out Chapter 7. The trailer featured censored quotes from excited Fortnite fans, sourced from social media posts. While the bad words in the posts were censored, the person who put the trailer together didn’t account for the more obscure NSFW word in one of the usernames that flashed up on screen.

The trailer, which was released on Sunday, features quotes such as “Like a ******* fever dream,” and “**** the Dark Voyager”, and no, I’m not the one doing the heavy censoring there. Those are the exact quotes as they appear in the now-deleted trailer.

One Word Slipped By Epic s Censors

At around the 24-second mark in the trailer, there’s a quote that reads “The best ******* game ever man.” A similarly censored, and therefore entirely safe, quote to use in a trailer that, while attempting to be edgy, is fine for Fortnite fans of all ages. Just don’t go Googling the word that’s included in the username of the person that’s attributed to.

That particular quote was taken from someone who goes by JonesyFrotting on Twitter. It was the owner of that account who first noted that they were pretty surprised to see their quote in the trailer, complete with their handle, and the replies to that post, which highlighted to those who don’t know what the word frotting means why it probably shouldn’t be in a Fortnite trailer.

Or, at the very least, it should be censored in a similar manner to all of the other F words used in the trailer.

Time To Learn What That Word Means, You Have Been Warned

This has been an educational experience for me, too, as I, just like the good people at Epic, had no idea what frotting means. I’ve done the Google search so you don’t have to, and turns out the term is used to describe the act of two men rubbing their you-know-whats together. So, no, not the worst word that could have accidentally popped up in a Fortnite trailer, but also not the kind of word parents will want their Fortnite-playing kids to Google like I just had to.

The trailer stayed up for a while, probably because it dropped on a Sunday, but also because the offending word is an obscure one that no one at Epic realized would cause a stir. While it’s gone now, nothing on the internet is ever truly gone forever, and you can watch it complete with the username that presumably got it pulled online still intact below.

The last thing Epic will want you focusing on in Fortnite this week is the naughty word in that trailer. It wants you to think about SpongeBob, who has finally joined the game as one of its new sidekicks. The mechanic has been a bit meh with players so far, but the resident of a pineapple under the sea seems to be the first sidekick people actually like.

Bring out the pitchforks. That’s basically what parents did when they found out what was in elementary school libraries, but were accused of ‘banning books”, even though adults could go to any book store buy them whenever they wanted. Is fortnite “banning ads”?🪧 🤦🏼‍♂
