No New Content For Battlefield 6 Over The Holidays Except For A Paid Battlepass You Won’t Even Finish

It’s been a quiet couple of weeks for Battlefield 6. Since the Winter Offensive went live before the holidays, the game has unsurprisingly received few updates. Everyone needs a holiday. That being said, the new Battlefield Pro battlepass has just gone live, and players are upset.
This battlepass is an additional battlepass available to those who have paid for the BF Pro subscription service. You have seven days to complete the pass, which seems like an enormous grind while at the end of the festive period. It also appears the battlepass isn’t actually working correctly, either.
Just Another Grind
The new BF Pro path rewards a new The Desert Locusts assault skin as its final tier, with some other fluff skins on the way, and two hardware experience boosters. That’s something, at least, as EA did not run a double XP event during the holidays.
With only seven days to complete the pass, you’ll need to play nonstop – or make an effort to complete the challenges available in the weekly challenge updates. These challenges reward you with bonus tokens that help complete the pass, but because this one only runs for seven days, you’ll only get one week of tokens. That’s enough to fill four tiers of the pass.
I’m pretty sure this is a mistake, and we might see the pass roll over into the next week’s challenges, allowing you to earn more tokens from challenges to actually be able to complete this pass at all.
Players are clearly upset that the only meaningful content update over the holiday period has been another FOMO battlepass. Honestly, I’m not even going to bother with this one: it looks like the skin has a pair of underpants strapped to his chest. It feels like DICE is just trying to release any shred of content it can scrape together to keep the dwindling playerbase of hardcore fans engaged with the game.
Another Example Of Battlefield 6 Failing To Meet Expectations
Regardless of how the pass works and how much of a grind it is, players have expressed their discontent with Battlefield 6 over the past few weeks. The discourse around the new BF Pro path is just another example of how EA has apparently fumbled the game since its launch, with successive updates creating more problems rather than delivering content via an efficient live service model.
It’s seen Battlefield 6’s playerbase drop by a huge 84 percent since launch, with Arc Raiders the clear winner out of the three big multiplayer shooter releases toward the end of 2025 (Battlefield, Call Of Duty, and Arc Raiders.)
I’ve covered plenty of Battlefield 6’s shortcomings in the past few months. Recent AI art accusations, which are pretty obvious, have only added to the idea that DICE are really phoning it in with Battlefield 6 right now.

A focus on REDSEC, the Battlefield 6 Battle Royale mode, and various other smaller gamemodes like Sabotage, has led the community to believe that not enough focus has been put into delivering what fans of the series really want: large sandbox maps with plenty of ways to play the game.
Season two is massively important for DICE and EA. Battlefield 6 is still an excellent foundation and by far the most successful launch the series has had in many years. But the studio must deliver on its potential, or lose out to the swathe of upcoming games in 2026.

This is actually worse then you think. You can not earn the extra stars outside of the weekly stars. There is only 1 week so you can only earn the 1st 3 items on the pass. You must spend 1050 Battle coins to get the rest as there is literly no other way to earn them. You can play 1000 rounds but it wont matter because you don’t earn stars like the other passes.
