Josh has been playing video games for longer than he can remember, kicking things off with a Master System before upgrading to a Mega Drive. Covering the industry since 2018, if a game has a strong story – or even better, the decisions you make determine the course of that story – odds are he’s going to like it. Or, you know, put Sonic or Pikachu on the cover and that’ll get his attention too.
Between console and Game Pass price hikes, there hasn’t been much for Xbox owners to celebrate in 2025. The slim silver lining for those who use their Xbox to play Fortnite is that Fortnite Crew is now included with Game Pass. Even better, players have discovered a loophole that gets you beaucoup V-Bucks for $1.
Fortnite Crew is the battle royale game’s subscription service. For a monthly fee, you get perks like cosmetic items, as well as V-Bucks to spend on whatever you like in the in-game store. You now get access to Crew if you have Game Pass. However, even if you were already subscribed to Fortnite Crew, subscribing to Game Pass right now gets you an additional 1,000 V-Bucks.
Get A Month Of Game Pass For $1 With 1,000 V-Bucks Thrown In For Good Measure
A pretty sweet deal all by itself, but here’s where it gets even better. Xbox is currently running a deal where people can sign up to Game Pass Ultimate and pay just $1 for their first month. Not bad for a service that now costs $29.99 a month – apologies for the reminder.
Here’s where that loophole comes in. As noted above, even if you’re already a Fortnite Crew subscriber, you still get 1,000 V-Bucks for signing up to Game Pass Ultimate. That has resulted in a lot of people signing up to Xbox’s highest Game Pass tier and paying a single dollar for the privilege, receiving 1,000 V-Bucks in the process.
For the most part, these Fortnite players aren’t interested in everything else Game Pass has to offer, like its growing library of games. They just want the V-Bucks. As Fortnite leaker Shiina – one of many to have shared the exploit – advises, most are getting their V-Bucks and then canceling their subscription right away.
Even after you cancel, you will still have access to Game Pass Ultimate for a month, so why not check out some of those games? I’d strongly recommend Keeper.
This Might Be A Loophole That Can t Be Closed
With their V-Bucks secured, these Fortnite players have no other use for Game Pass, especially if they’re already subscribed to Fortnite Crew without it, which seems to be the case, for the most part. For those who aren’t familiar with the USD to V-Bucks exchange rate, 1,000 V-Bucks cost $8.99, which means the loophole is getting you that sweet in-game currency for almost 90 percent off the standard price.

Usually, something like this would be slammed shut when a spotlight is shone on it, but that might prove difficult in this case. This isn’t really an oversight; it’s just how things work. The only way I can see it potentially being tweaked so that people stop signing up for the V-Bucks and then immediately canceling is by limiting the offer to people who are new to Fortnite Crew rather than offering it as an incentive to any and all Fortnite players who sign up for Game Pass.
