If you want to survive the dangerous, cutthroat world of Arc Raiders, then you’ll need to scavenge for everything and anything throughout the wasteland. While most of these items will be used to improve your stations or craft new gear, you’ll want to keep an eye out for items that go toward your Expedition Project.
One of these is the Light Bulb, which you will need three of to advance past step three. Surprisingly, Light Bulbs can be a bit frustrating to find if you don’t know where to look, so here are some of my favorite places to hunt them down.
Where To Find Light Bulbs
When it comes to finding Light Bulbs, you will want to focus your search on areas that can drop Electrical-themed loot. Designated by the lightning bolt icon, the places I recommend looking for Light Bulbs are:
Power Generation Complex and Electrical Substation on Dam Battlegrounds
Of the three maps listed, Dam Battlegrounds has given me the best results. This is thanks to the combination of the Power Generation Complex to the north and the Electrical Substation to the south. For the former, focus your search in the underground tunnels just below the main building. It’s pretty dense with lootable spots, and the control room on the eastern side has been specifically good for me when it comes to finding Light Bulbs.
Inversely, the Electrical Substation is a much smaller location but seems to have a decent chance of spawning Light Bulbs. Look for the small buildings on the northern side of this point of interest, as they often have either lootable containers or lockers, which seem to have a better chance of actually dropping a Light Bulb.
Pilgrim’s Peak is another solid spot, especially the various outlying buildings and tower. You can also find Light Bulbs in the basement control room, but I often find this area is mostly filled with other electrical items like wires, electrical components, sensors, and processors.
This location also has the added benefit of being mostly outside the major conflict areas on this map, making it a little safer from PvP-oriented players.
Finally, lootable vehicles are surprisingly one of the best sources of Light Bulbs. You will want to look for any car that still has its hood intact or the back of buses, as these are breachable containers you can scavenge in. Some of my favorite spots for specifically looting cars are the highway and parking garage in Buried City, Checkpoint in The Blue Gate, and the ruined road that cuts through the middle of Dam Battlegrounds.

Remember, Light Bulbs cannot be bought or crafted, so make sure to always keep an eye out for them, even if you don’t currently need three for your Expedition!
