A graduate of the University of Southern California, Johnny owns a B.A. in Journalism and minor in Sports Media Studies. California born and raised, you can often find Johnny enjoying the sunshine and In-N-Out. When not gaming or writing news, Johnny can be found playing with his two male chihuahuas, Akira and August, whom he affectionately calls his sons.

As far as Christmas Day events are concerned, we know Timothy Chalamet’s Marty Supreme is releasing in movie theaters, the next part of the final season of Stranger Things will drop on Netflix, and, if you fancy yourself a sports fan, then there are two NFL games and a smattering of NBA games.

Well, you can add the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the beloved indie title Stardew Valley to that list, as the one and only ConcernedApe has managed to shadowdrop the long-awaited upgrade on Christmas.

That free part shouldn’t be too surprising, especially given that ConcernedApe had already confirmed the update would be free, or at least as close to free as possible. In Japan, the update has to legally cost something, so the creator promised players he would charge players the smallest possible amount.

Bear in mind that this update’s shadowdrop is particularly surprising, given that just eight days ago ConcernedApe took to social media in response to the delay to share that he’ll “announce something very soon.”

Pokemon Pokopia seems like an easy slam dunk for Nintendo, so why has it taken them so long to make a game like it?

“Another common ConcernedApe W,” one user on Reddit wrote. “Eric is nearing my goat status at this point.”

Yup, we’re right there with you.

What Does The Switch 2 Edition Of Stardew Valley Include?

OK, if you’re wondering what exactly the Switch 2 version of Stardew Valley includes, then know that it isn’t a ton, but also is enough that, presuming you already have a regular Switch version, then there’s no reason not to download it.

Improved multiplayer, including four-player local split-screen, as well as up to eight online

That last bit is probably the most appealing, especially if you have multiple gamers in your circle.

Either way, it’s an extremely nice gesture on Christmas Day, no less. It begs wondering who among us was on the “Extra” Nice List to help make this happen? Certainly wasn’t me.

E for Everyone (Fantasy Violence, Mild Blood, Mild Language, Simulated Gambling, Use of Alcohol and Tobacco)

Trying to convince Santa to help me catch ’em all for Christmas has me feeling nostalgic.
