The Wolf Maiden is a World Boss in the Kiafeng region of Where Winds Meet, and currently one of the most difficult bosses in the game. Her unpredictable attack patterns and high damage make the Wolf Maiden a threat to even the most seasoned Wanderers.
The Wolf Miaden is accessible both out in the world and during the Feast Before the Beasts quest. However, no matter which version of the boss you’re facing, you’ll need some serious skills to prevail. Below, we’ll take a look at everything this boss can do, and everything you can do to beat it.
Wolf Maiden Boss Location
The Wolf Maiden is located in Desperation Ridge, in the southeastern part of Kaifeng. To start the fight, you’ll need to change the in-game time to night, then walk inside the arena.
Here’s how to find and beat the Sleeping Daoist World Boss in Where Winds Meet.
Immediately as the fight begins, the boss will jump onto the tree, and then a wolf will appear. After a moment, it will howl, then charge at you. This will then repeat a second time before the boss jumps down. You can dodge or parry the wolves’ attacks, but parrying them won’t decrease the boss’s Qi gauge.
After dodging both wolves, the Wolf Maiden will jump down, using a gold attack on the way down. Dodge at just the last second to avoid taking a big hit, then the battle will properly begin.
The Wolf Maiden’s most common type of attack has her slashing with her claw and dagger, hitting in an arc to her front. Each hit in this combo has a different parry timing, making it very difficult to avoid them all. We recommend parrying the first few hits, then dodging away for the rest.
The Wolf Maiden will also swipe her weapons around, sending out silver projectiles towards you. With enough distance, these projectiles can be parried easily enough, giving you a bit of extra Qi damage.
Frequently, the boss will perform dodging attacks, in which she dodges to the side, then immediately charges at you for an attack. Watch the pattern of these attacks carefully to avoid them. Occasionally, a dodge will be paired with a projectile attack, so be ready to parry or dodge as needed.
The Wolf Maiden’s red attack has her thrust forward with her dagger, then perform a backflip kick. Despite this being a red attack, parrying both hits doesn’t always seem to execute a counterattack. Still, parrying them is rather straightforward and is worth doing in this case.
One of the Wolf Maiden’s more dangerous attacks begins with her licking the edge of her dagger, then charging forward in a whirlwind of slashes, dealing multiple hits of damage, before finishing with a horizontal swipe that unleashes a second hit of damage.
Depending on your distance to the boss, you’ll want to parry right as she approaches during the charging whirlwind, then parry twice in quick succession to avoid the final cut and its burst of energy.
Phase 2
When the boss has about 75 percent health remaining, she will channel red energy, then let out a long howl, dealing damage in the area, and transitioning the fight to the second phase.
All throughout this phase, the Wolf Maiden’s Qi gauge will slowly recover over time. You’ll need to keep up the pressure, parrying as many attacks as you can, to deplete it fully.
The Wolf Maiden will first perform her gold attack at the start of this phase, leaping around the edges of the arena before diving at you. Dodge this in the same way as before.

During this phase, all of the Wolf Maiden’s previous attacks will be enhanced, dealing more damage and inflicting Bleed. Plus, she’ll use a few new ones, or variations on old ones, making the fight even more unpredictable.
The Wolf Maiden will perform a combo attack with her weapons, executing a series of dagger slashes and finishing with a red dagger thrust. Parry this final hit to perform a counterattack.
She will also gain a new gold attack during this phase. First, she’ll perform a cartwheel of slashes before leaping into the air, then dive-bombing you, which then unleashes a burst of energy. Since this is a gold attack, you’ll need to dodge the dive-bomb, as it can’t be parried or blocked.
If you’re having trouble with this fight, we highly recommend recruiting either an NPC or other players to help. Even on Story difficulty with Assist Deflection turned on, there’s no guarantee you’ll win this fight. If you’re playing on Expert or Legend Difficulty, expect to be practicing for quite some time.
Additionally, you can repair the Bell of Demoncalm, which will weaken all World Bosses considerably. If you don’t want to lower the difficulty or do co-op, it’s worth grinding out the Bell of Demoncalm.
