A former Rockstar Games developer has answered the question everyone’s been asking since Grand Theft Auto 6’s second trailer – how do Lucia’s jiggle physics work?
When GTA 6’s second trailer finally released in the middle of 2025, it gave fans a lot to look forward to and obsess over while nursing the pain of multiple delays. Of course, with the internet being what it is, there’s one eye-catching scene from Trailer 2 in particular that really got everyone talking.
I am, of course, talking about the moment where Lucia walks over to Jason while the pair are on a boat. Lucia is shown in a stunning yellow dress, and the camera purposefully lingers behind her for a good second, showing just how much time and effort Rockstar has put into GTA 6’s jiggle physics, something a former Rockstar animator has now taken the time to explain.
Ex Rockstar Animator Explains How Lucia s Jiggle Physics Work In GTA 6
The Explanation We ve All Been Waiting For
As highlighted by YouTuber GTA infinity, former Rockstar Games animator Mike York (who worked on GTA 5 and GTA Online) recently took part in a livestream with TGG. In the livestream, York is asked about the infamous jiggle physics that appeared in GTA 6’s second trailer, and if he can explain how they work, something that the “entire chat” was wondering about.
GTA 6 will probably be great, but it can’t be everything its community imagines.
Unsurprisingly for an animator who literally worked at Rockstar, York is able to dive into the process behind GTA 6’s jiggle physics. York explains that it’s done in several different ways depending on the game. One example York notes is that for a ragdoll, animators can program a game’s engine to recognise how much weight and velocity certain parts of the body have.
In the case of Lucia, though, York speculates that the jiggle physics were “most likely” done by putting as many bones (the animation kind, that is) as possible inside Lucia’s butt. Those bones work alongside the rest of Lucia’s skeleton to allow Rockstar’s animators to program how much that part of the body is affected by physics and movement which, in the case of that shot from the trailer, seems like a lot.
York is quick to clarify that he’s not 100 percent certain on GTA 6’s jiggle physics since he doesn’t work at Rockstar anymore. Still, considering his experience with the company and time as an animator, it’s as close to the truth as we’ll get for now.
York specifically notes that these bones were also used in Red Dead Redemption 2 to help animate the movement of dresses, but that it wasn’t an actual cloth simulation. In the case of GTA 6 and Lucia, though, York speculates that Rockstar is both using bones and running a calculated cloth simulation for dresses, which could be what’s making Lucia stand out so much.
After the success of the Fallout TV show’s second season, many people are looking for a new game. Guess what: it’s already available.

GTA 6 will be the most cheated at game of the decade. Honestly I’m passing on it entirely regardless of the hype.

They are bringing back JIGGLE physics….. Yes!!! No more stiff female characters with BBL physics we are going to get some natural moving bodies, I’m not even playing story mode, straight online…. That’s the real question I put years into my GTA5 online character do I get anything for my loyalty, for my plus membership, for two to three consoles or are you just gonna retire my character like it never happened I’m LVL570 no cheats, come on bro give me at least a kinda you liquidate all my characters assets and give me a head start in GTA6 online…. I should be a Nepo baby really starting with a ton of money 💰…. Just saying

Huh? I googled the guy and his LinkedIn shows a bunch of jobs since he stopped working at Rockstar. Of course people are going to ask him about and he’s going to answer questions about one of the biggest games of all time.
