To expedition or not to expedition, that is the question every Arc Raiders player has been wondering about. Expeditions are Arc Raiders’ way to initiate a progress wipe, but they’re optional. Embark detailed all the things that will be wiped and what will remain to make the decision easier, but it seems it quietly changed a few things at the last minute.
After taking the tough decision to lose all their loot and wipe all their skills, some Arc Raiders players were surprised to find that their workshops went missing despite the devs saying they would stay. However, upon going back to the patch notes, they realised that they had been quietly changed.
Workshops Will Also Be Wiped If You Go On An Expedition In Arc Raiders
Players who decided to go on the expedition found that the workshops, which they spent their hard-earned loot to build were removed from Speranza, meaning they’d have to save up and build them again. This is in addition to losing all their loot and piling up enough to get the five skill points at the start of the wipe.
What makes this even more annoying is that Embark, who is aware that players were already confused about the decision, quietly changed the patch notes to reflect this. The developer has otherwise provided a lot of information about the wipe, but this last-minute change wasn’t announced as widely as it should have been.
Arc Raiders Sound Design is fantastic, and it’s a real shame it didn’t get a nod at this years Game Awards.
What this means is that instead of setting off to get whatever loot you want, you’ll now have to first collect the specific kind which will let you build these workshops again. As if amassing 5 million worth of loot wasn’t already a slog, this will undoubtedly annoy players who were hoping to go back to their usual gameplay loop after the expedition.
Sure, the wipe does give you access to certain buffs, but the developer’s decision has spoiled the fun for a lot of players, who had to grind over the last week for the expedition. The missing workshops have clearly annoyed quite a few players.

I stopped playing this week. The wipe is a bad idea either way. Either the people who dont do it are at a disadvantage due to the wipers getting extra skill points, especially after 2 or 3 wipes, or as a wiper youre pissed because they couldnt get their shit straight. Definitely a fumble. Its a great game, but after the pvp fest that was the endgame and this new tower event that will cause nothing but strife, im done with the game. Ill come back when they put in a PvE mode.
