Finding your way in Where Winds Meet allows you to unlock new skills, meet valuable allies, and uncover the truth behind your background. However, there are many roads to take, and all of them are enriching. Picking a sect to join is only part of the journey, and the Silver Needle is a good starting place.
Before you can join this elite group of doctors, you’ll need to demonstrate your understanding of their creed and abide by their rules. We’ll walk you through how to complete the initiation process and stick to their rules so you can have a successful career as a doctor.
How To Answer The Three Questions For Dr. Yuan
When you select the Sect menu and hover over Silver Needle, you’ll have a hint about where to find a contact for the group. Joining is as simple as impressing this individual, and finding Dr. Yuan is easier than you’d think.
Before you can apply to the Silver Needle, you’ll need to learn the Healing Profession skill in the western reaches of Sundara Land.
Rather than go to the clinic in the northern reaches of Qinghe, head to Sage Knoll towards the south. Inside this small clinic, you’ll find Dr. Yuan in white robes behind a desk. Speak with him about joining the Silver Needle Sect, and he’ll instruct you to answer three questions.
However, these are not traditional questions–the answers will come in the form of payment you request from three patients you need to heal. The main rule all Silver Needle disciples follow is that there is “one life, one price.”
This means that healing is a sacred art, and you must ask for something meaningful in exchange for something as priceless as a life.
The first patient can be found down the road to the south. Look for a sick merchant and his attendant in the bamboo grove. The man is clearly in great pain and agitated. Listen to him and offer your services.
Use Wind Sense to observe his illness, then select a reward for treatment. You’ll want to choose the Ill-gotten Wealth: Artwork as payment. The merchant protests and offers to give you anything else, but hold firm and confirm your choice. Continue with the healing and move onto the next patient further down the hill.
What Payment To Select For The Second Patient
Continue south to find a drunk man who fell and injured himself. He needs you to heal a fracture, though he has little to offer as payment.
Select the jar of Parting Tears, which he heavily protests against. Confirm that this is what you want as payment for healing, then proceed with the treatment.
What Payment To Select For The Third Patient
Finally, you’ll need to help a shivering orphan a bit higher up the mountain. When you reach her, she has nothing of value to offer as payment. You’ll even get the option to treat her for free, but remember the rules of the Silver Needle: one life, one price.
Select the scrap of fabric as payment and continue with the healing. Once you’ve done that, return to Dr. Yuan to turn in your answers, at which point he’ll offer you a position within the Silver Needle Sect.
Silver Needle Sect Overview
Once you join the Silver Needle sect, you’ll have access to the sect exclusive shop and cosmetic items as you continue to grow within the group, and you’ll need to abide by a set of rules:
Shared Healing: Participate in successful multiplayer healing, which grants precept value +10.
Healing Bodies and Minds: Earn at least 15 likes each week; otherwise, precept value -10.
Your martial arts builds for this sect are the Panacea Fan and the Inkwell Fan, depending on your preference for healing or DPS capabilities, respectively.
How To Leave The Silver Needle Sect
You can leave the sect at any time by completing the corresponding trial, though you’ll lose whatever titles and progress you’ve made within the sect. You can always rejoin later, though there may be cooldowns before you can rejoin or leave again, depending on your timing.
