The first Expedition for Arc Raiders has officially taken place, meaning many players have been willingly set back to square one. Along with a lot of people losing their gear, quest progress, and skill points, the Trials ranks have also reset this season.
This comes with a new set of Trials for players to complete and earn three stars on. With so many players’ progress reset, this makes achieving three stars a great way to quickly earn some Rare and Epic materials, such as blueprints. Here’s everything you need to know about easily achieving three stars during the Season 2, Week 1 Trials
Search First Wave Husks Trial
To get three stars for this Trial, you will need to search for any of the old, silver-colored husks of dead ARC that are littered throughout the battlefield. These come in three sizes, with the smallest looking like a destroyed wasp, the medium one appearing as a broken down Rocketeer, and the largest is a massive baron that’s roughly the size of a Queen.
All of these can be breached and searched, but what matters is that you actually rummage through them. Being the one to actually open the husk doesn’t matter.
The best place to search for first-wave husks is the area between Ancient Fort and Ridge Line on The Blue Gate map. This is a massive, old battleground that’s absolutely littered with dead ARC, you can easily break into and search. Due to the high density of these husks, you can quickly achieve three stars by just running between them and looking through their bodies.
While it’s almost entirely made up of small and medium-sized ARCsthe volume of them makes up for the lack of large, dead barons., Just remember, you’re going to be pretty exposed when breaching due to the open nature of the landscape. Make sure to keep your eyes out for any bloodthirsty Raiders!
Need to find Candleberries or what the steps are for the Flickering Flames project? Here’s everything you need to survive this Arc Raiders event.
This will be the trickiest Trial to achieve three stars on, due to the lack of gear most players will have following the Expedition. You’ll want to acquire a mix of Blaze Grenades and Trailblazers, as these do a ton of damage to Leapers since they’re specifically weak to fire. Additionally, any type of Heavy ammo weapon, such as a Ferro or Anvil are solid backup weapons if the throwables don’t instantly kill these Arc.
During a Night Raid or once with double XP, you’ll need to fully kill two Leapers to achieve a three-star rank. The easiest map to do this on is Blue Gate or Dam Battlegrounds. Both maps have pretty consistent spawns for these enemies, with the former being my personal favorite for hunting down Leapers.
On The Blue Gate, I recommend bouncing between the Adorned Wreckage and Ruined Homestead. These are the two main locations that Leapers will spawn, making it fairly easy to find the ARC you need to slay. Remember, when you kill a Leaper, just hang around for a bit, and eventually one will replace the Leaper you’ve destroyed.
Alternatively, if you want to complete this on Dam Battlegrounds, then look for Leapers at the Water Treatment Elevator and outside of Testing Annex. Both of these spots also have buildings you can hide out in, which should mostly protect you from the Leapers’ various attacks.
Harvest Plants Trials
A pretty easy Trial, as all you need to do is harvest between 14–15 plants during a single run. Simply looting a container with a nature item inside won’t count, as you need to physically loot the small tree or plant that the material comes from. Given the sheer amount of them, you’ll want to do this task during a Night Raid or Electromagnetic Storm.
As for which map to complete it on, the ideal choice is Buried City during this event. This is largely due to the Galleria having a ton of Great Mullein on the lowest floor that you can harvest. Finally, if you can brave the ARC, Marano Park usually has some additional Great Mullein, along with the outskirts of the map.
Alternatively, Blue Gate is a solid option since the west side of the map has a nice amount of Great Mullein that you can harvest in and around the forest. This one will require a bit more legwork, but it’s definitely possible to find all the plants you need.
Search Frozen Raider Caches Trial
For this Trial, you can only complete it on a map with the Cold Snap event active. Each cache will reward you with 1,000 XP, meaning you’ll have to search through a minimum of four Frozen Raider Caches to achieve three stars.
Remember, caches typically spawn on the outskirts of maps in the wilderness, and you’ll know you’re near one thanks to the distinctive ticking sound they emit. It will grow louder the closer you get, making listening for them over the howling wind critical since they’re usually well hidden in the foliage.

Now, you don’t need to actually be the one who breaches the Raider Cache, as simply searching through one will do the job. I find either Spaceport or Dam Battlegrounds to be the best maps for this. The former will have caches spawning around the perimeter of the massive wall, while the latter has a lot of caches in the forest on the western side.
Destroy Ticks
Your final trial is the easiest, as all you need to do is destroy Ticks. Far and away, the best way to achieve this is on Stella Montis where they are absolutely everywhere. During a Night Raid on Stella Montis you’ll need between 7–9 Ticks, which actually isn’t that much, given there are quite a few spots where they spawn in mass. The best places to kill Ticks are:
Cultural Archive
Of these points of interest, the Cultural Archive is absolutely the best place. There are usually anywhere between 6–8 of the little bastards hiding around. This means, if the area is untouched, you can achieve three stars by just obliterating all the Ticks hanging around this area.
What’s nice is, if you’re short, you can pop down to the Seed Vault, which is also nearby, and kill the Ticks in there. Plus, the vault is right next to an exfiltration zone, letting you make a clean getaway!
