Being an extraction shooter, Arc Raiders has a number of unsaid rules. Don’t loot anyone else’s kill, use the “don’t shoot” emote if you’re friendly, don’t look shifty, and many others, which you’ll learn over time. However, if you’re a new player, all of this may not occur to you. Newer players might possibly get shot at for doing something that they’re not even aware of.
Nothing is more frustrating than finding good loot, making your way to the extraction, only to get shot over a misunderstanding. I was once shot for nothing more than hiding nearby while the extraction elevator was on its way. So, in order to make the game a bit more friendly towards newbies, some players have listed down the dos and don’ts of Arc Raiders, along with a few beginner tips.
What Not To Do In Arc Raiders
A post on Reddit by UntakenUsername420 asked about player etiquette in Arc Raiders for someone who’s new to the game. The top voted reply was surprisingly to never turn your back on a Leaper, or even engage with it if you’re not prepared for a proper fight. No matter what gear or tactical advantage you may have, do not engage unless necessary. This tip was probably thanks to the image they used in the post, but the thread is filled with some useful information.
The most important one, at least in friendly lobbies, is to announce yourself when you enter a building or are near another raider. Even if you’re not in a PvP lobby, sneaking up on someone could cause them to panic and pull the trigger. Locked rooms are also not free-for-all, if a player did the work to get the key, the loot is theirs.
However, despite all these unsaid rules and terms of etiquette, you can play the game however you want. Killing other raiders, stealing their loot, camping at the extraction point is all part of the game. Just remember that if you play the game as a PvP shooter, Arc Raiders will eventually drop you in more aggressive lobbies.
