Dad Promises His Son GTA 6 And A PS5, But He Has To 100 Percent Crash Bandicoot 4 To Get Them

A father has promised his son a copy of Grand Theft Auto 6 and a PS5 to play it on if he can manage the impossibly brutal task of 106 percenting Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time.

If there’s one thing that Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time has become known for in the years since it released, it’s how annoyingly difficult and demanding it is to fully complete. While previous Crash games were plenty challenging in their own right, getting every Relic and Gem wasn’t that bad and just took a little bit of time and patience.

In Crash 4, however, 100 percenting (or rather, 106 percenting) the game is a horrible time, with every single level needing to be played perfectly at least twice, every box and collectible needing to be found, and all of the brutal Platinum Relics having to be earned. It’s a tall task, but one that’s apparently worth a copy of GTA 6 and a PlayStation 5.

Gamer Dad Challenges Son To Platinum Crash 4 For A Copy Of GTA 6 And A PS5

Over on Twitter, HarrisonTheHutt shared the details of the cruel challenge, revealing that they had bought their son a copy of Crash Bandicoot 4 on Steam for Christmas. That present has led to a big task, though, as HarrisonTheHutt told their son that they’ll buy him a copy of GTA 6 and a PS5 to play it on for his birthday next year if he can get all of the achievements.

Getting all of Crash 4’s achievements means 106 percenting the game and doing pretty much everything in it, from beating the base levels with all of their collectibles to nailing the ultra-hard Platinum Relic times. Oh, and you’ve also got to do each level without dying a certain amount of times, and then do it with a weird N.Verted effect applied.

Crash 4’s completion infamously requires perfection from the player, and it’s a very tough and miserable time, one that’s apparently worth the $700 reward. HarrisonTheHutt shared a little update after the tweet went viral, revealing their son has 11 out of 50 achievements so far, which gives me a little hope that he’ll eventually be able to do it. Maybe…

An RPG from 2011 shouldn’t run at 30 frames per second on a console from 2025.
