If You Want To Tell Square Enix Your Hopes For Final Fantasy’s Future, Now’s Your Chance Final Fantasy Survey Gives Fans A Chance To Provide Feedback

Quinton is a Staff Writer from the United States. In his youth, Quinton was ridiculed for making video game ranking lists instead of paying attention in math class. In adulthood, people sometimes pay him for it. Life’s a trip.
Taking his first steps into the industry in 2020, Quinton has written for several digital publications, but his permanent literary home is right here at TheGamer.
Before striking up a conversation with Quinton, consider the risks: he’ll find a way to transform almost any topic into an analysis of either world history, Star Trek, or – at least this one’s relevant to his career – all his favorite role-playing games.

Do you want to tell Square Enix what you think about the present state of Final Fantasy? Because, listen, as a long-time fan of the series, who considers it a big part of his life, I have long known that most of my fellow FF diehards always have something to say about it. Sure, we often repeat ourselves. We talk in circles. We compare installments like we eat meals. But we never shut up.

Unless you work for ’em, or work alongside ’em somehow, there are only so many chances to talk directly to Square Enix themselves. That’s why it’s important that we highlight these limited-time surveys, as we’d do for any developer. They monitor social media; they’ve got folks who spend full-time hours doing that. Gauging opinions galore. But it’s these straightforward, one-to-one, moments that can prove critical.

Also, How Would You Prefer To Be Bombarded By Advertisements

To be clear, most of this survey pertains to Square’s marketing techniques. (And by the by, bless NintendoLife for catching this.) Grapevine has it that Square has been looking long and hard at how its marketing efforts have – and oftentimes, have not – aided the series’ sales. It’s old news at this point, and it’s couched in the comforting fact that director Naoki Hamaguchi has since gone on to say that the sales have recovered appreciably, but for as utterly fantastic as it is, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth had a pretty underwhelming launch.

Something’s not working when that happens, no matter how many reasons we can cite for why it may have occurred. You’ve got to market smartly. No wonder most of the questions in this limited-run survey concern how we discover FF news, where we’d like to see it, and what we’d like to get out of it. (Promotional campaigns, that sort of thing. Also, what types of merch we want.) Hey, that’s all worth telling! I emphasized how badly I want more, like, card games and stuff. Give me Queen’s Blood, right?

The very last question lets you write in your thoughts on the franchise, including where you want to see it headed. That’s where the magic happens, if only you’ll take a few moments to type it. I wrote a good deal, and didn’t get cut off, so you should be fine. I thanked them for FFT’s latest port. I told them how much I love FF7 Rebirth. (Although, I already said that when I reviewed it.) I begged them not to cancel the FF9 remake, which they haven’t even announced, but wink-wink, nudge-nudge, surely there’s fire for all that smoke.

Tell them whatever you like. Counter all my points and blast them for The Ivalice Chronicles, roast Rebirth, and beg them never to look at FF9 again. As Squall says, “whatever.” We like what we like. But tell ’em while you can! Here’s where you can find it, and don’t mind the .jp domain; it’s all in English for us.

We want to hear from you! Share your opinions in the thread below and remember to keep it respectful.
