Karlach’s Toll House Rampage In Baldur’s Gate 3 Looks Very Different If She’s A Monk

Karlach gives us our first look at her berserker rage in her recruitment mission in Baldur’s Gate 3. After killing all the monks in the toll-house in act one, she can’t control her emotions, as she roars and rages like a proper barbarian. However, it seems she expresses her anger in another way if you manage to turn her into a monk before completing the quest.
Changing character subclasses is a great way to experience some new content in Baldur’s Gate 3. Apart from giving your party a major power boost, it also unlocks new dialogs and interactions for certain characters. So, if Karlach is converted into a monk, either via a mod or Withers, her reaction in the toll house reflects the change.
Karlach Trades Her Rage For Karate Chops
As spotted by Redditor SkeletonChurch, who completed Karlach’s recruitment mission while she was turned into a monk, the Tiefling’s angered reaction results in her busting furniture around the toll-house using just her fists, instead of her fiery rage. Maybe it’s not as impactful, but watching her tear the place apart like Bruce Lee sounds great!
“What if we were in an alternate reality, where Karlach took a different path, and instead of harnessing her rage, she learned to control it? What does it sound like when Karlach is ruled not by incandescent fury but by inner calm?” said the post. “I’ll tell you. Instead of roaring in rage while destroying the tollhouse, she runs around yelling HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIYA like Miss Piggy while destroying the tollhouse, and it is glorious.”
SkeletonChurch also noted that they weren’t sure whether this reaction was because of her new class or if it was because she had no weapons on her, but it’s probably the former. They also said that they were going to try the same thing with Karlach as a wizard, which might just result in a full-party wipe via fire ball.

It seems OP loves playing around with character classes, as they mentioned that they also converted Lae’zel into a bard with the most hilarious Vicious Mockery lines. What’s next? Astarion as a barbarian? Minthara as a Bard? Where does it stop?
