Finding loot and crafting better equipment is all part of Arc Raiders’ extraction formula. With the recent progress wipe, many players will be going back to the earlier gameplay loop of looting, extracting, and crafting, rather than holding onto their loot for a better payout, so things will be getting interesting again. However, among the things that have remained the same is the fact that the base weapons are still the best in the game.
The Kettle is one of the starter weapons in Arc Raiders, you can basically get it for no effort if you choose a free loadout. While upgrading it definitely improves your chances in a firefight against Arcs or other raiders, it seems some players have found an exploit that arguably makes it the most powerful weapon in the game.
Arc Raiders Kettle Macro Exploit Explained
This exploit is only possible for PC players, as it uses a macro to turn the Kettle from a semi-auto weapon into a fully automatic one that can down enemies in just one or two seconds. In fact, the exploit has become so popular that streamers have been using it to rampage across maps, taking out Arcs and raiders alike with little effort.
The Kettle is already a powerful gun which can take down heavy shields in just a few clicks, based on how fast your fingers work. To balance the power of this weapon, the devs decided to make it semiautomatic and give it a relatively longer reload time. However, since the fire-rate is uncapped, players have used macros to enable it to unload its mag with just one click. It’s not technically cheating, as it only requires a mouse with macro software, but it seems Embark has already taken action against certain players using macros in such a way.
While the players using these macros are having a great time, it isn’t exactly fair to those on console or those without macro software. The exploit has been known for quite a while, but the devs still haven’t gotten around to putting a hard cap on the Kettle’s fire-rate. Hopefully, this is attended to after the holiday season. Once everyone’s back to work.
If you head over to the Arc Raiders subreddit, you’ll see several videos of players plowing through enemies with this macro build of the Kettle. While those using it appear to be having a blast, the rest of the community is hoping that the devs will fix it soon.
