Clair Obscur’s Cuddly Companion Esquie Has Been Turned Into A Real-Life Plush
Sandfall Interactive
Josh has been playing video games for longer than he can remember, kicking things off with a Master System before upgrading to a Mega Drive. Covering the industry since 2018, if a game has a strong story – or even better, the decisions you make determine the course of that story – odds are he’s going to like it. Or, you know, put Sonic or Pikachu on the cover and that’ll get his attention too.
Who is the best party member in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33? If you answered Esquie, then congratulations, you are correct. As a prize, you can treat yourself to the long-awaited Esquie plush that was teased months ago which has finally been revealed, and pre-orders are available now.
The only official Esquie plush is available to pre-order right now exclusively through the IGN Store. As the product description notes, this has been a much-requested piece of Expedition 33 merch, perhaps the thing Clair fans have been requesting most. The game’s director confirmed Esquie merch had been discussed less than a week after the game launched.
Esquie s First Official Plush Is Here
A couple of weeks after that, Sandfall confirmed an Esquie plush was “coming soon”. Here we are seven months later, and it’s finally here. Well, pre-orders are here. The wait to get your hands on your very own Esquie is going to be a little longer. The pre-order period runs until March 2026, and the plushes will start shipping a month later in April.
Unfortunately, unlike some of Pokemon’s offerings, Clair’s Esquie plush isn’t life-size. Esquie can alter his height, but he is often around twice as tall as his fellow party members, so it’s probably for the best that his plush doesn’t measure up. Getting him through the door would have been a struggle, and I dread to think how much a life-size Esquie plush would cost.
Esquie’s plush is 12 inches tall and costs $44.99. Based on how the Clair companion appears in the game, the plush has embroidered details throughout its design, and my favorite part of all, the eyes are buttons, making them look very similar to Esquie’s unique eyes in the game.
Clair Obscur And KPop Demon Hunters Have More In Common Than You Might Think
There aren’t many comparisons you can draw between Expedition 33 and KPop Demon Hunters, but an unexpected level of success followed by scrambling to capitalize on that success is something 2025’s surprise hits share. Much like Clair and its Esquie plush, Netflix and the creators of KPop Demon Hunters are currently playing catch-up on the merch front, as it turns out more people love the movie than they expected.
Netflix has since signed deals with Mattel and Hasbro to try and satiate the demand for official, high-quality KPop Demon Hunters merch. Barbie-style dolls modeled after all three members of Huntrix have already been revealed, and the Hasbro deal has some hoping we might one day see Rumi, Mira, and Zoey in Magic: The Gathering.
