Samantha Béart Will Star In A Lot Of Secret Games Next Year Because Everyone Changed Their Releases To Dodge GTA 6

Jack Coleman (He/Him) is a News Editor from Ireland. This is his third full year in games media, having previously worked freelance for various outlets, including DualShockers and NME.
Previously, he’s interviewed breakout indie developers, broken big news stories, reviewed massive releases and recounted his time living as a humble woodsman in Oblivion.
A lifelong gamer, Jack is primarily interested in RPGs and narrative experiences. He’s also been playing League of Legends for a decade, unfortunately.
Grand Theft Auto 6’s original release date of “late 2025” caused a seismic wave in the gaming industry, as publishers scrambled to reschedule game releases to avoid their release window being dominated by Rockstar’s surefire mega-hit.
However, GTA 6 was ultimately delayed twice and will now release next November. This hasn’t stopped most of the games originally scheduled for late 2025 from releasing early next year. In an interview with Radio Times at the Golden Joysticks, Baldur’s Gate 3 star Samantha Béart (Karlach) revealed that they’re featured in a plethora of games releasing next year.
Bumper Year
“Currently [I’m in] seven games under NDA,” they revealed. “But we also have Loco Motive, Cabernet, Mike Bithell’s Tron: Catalyst… Absolum – which people have played, thank you for playing! And Fading Echo, which has been out in alpha playtest for a while.”
“Please play the indie games, please,” Béart said to the camera. A sentiment that no one can reasonably disagree with, as the independent scene is increasingly becoming the primary source for creative, genre-breaking titles.
When pressed for more details on their upcoming projects, Béart said, “Two are triple-A, and the rest are indies. Play the indies too.” We can expect the majority of these games to release early in the new year, especially if they were rescheduled to avoid Grand Theft Auto 6.
“You’re going to be sick of me, and I’m sorry,” Béart continued. “Some of these I’ve been sitting on for up to two years, some are a couple of months. Why am I apologising? Screw you, play the games.”
Béart has been very busy since the release of Baldur’s Gate 3, and their advice to play indie games is sage. The rest of the cast has also been busy; Jennifer English (Shadowheart) has been winning awards for her performance as Maelle in this year’s independent smash hit Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Devora Wilde (Lae’zel) has featured in Metaphor: ReFantazio, Cronos: New Dawn and Split Fiction over the last couple of years.
It’s fantastic to see everyone going from success to success following their breakout roles.
