Black Ops 7 Was The Most-Downloaded Game In November, Even With All The Controversy And Hate

Over on the PlayStation Blog, Sony has revealed its top downloads for the month of November 2025 in the United States/Canada and European Union, and lo behold, Black Ops 7 is at the top of the list in both regions.

The title, which was released on November 14, managed to outbeat both Arc Raiders and Battlefield 6, its stiffest and better-received competition in the online multiplayer genre.

It warms my heart to see INAZUMA ELEVEN: Victory Road in the Top 10 of paid downloads. Seriously, go check it out.

It’s worth noting that these are digital-only sales, and we likely won’t have the full picture of what’s happening in other regions, how well the game performed on disc or the impact of Game Pass on things until much later.

Still, this bit of data is a pretty noteworthy highlight, particularly after the game was reported to be selling poorly.

For Now, It Seems Like The Call Of Duty Train Can t Be Stopped

Late last week, it was reported that Call of Duty experienced a 20-year low when it comes to sales in Japan, with Black Ops 7 managing just 12,311 copies sold at launch. For what it’s worth, Black Ops 6 only managed 32,628 copies sold, and the region as a whole has been struggling with PlayStation sales, prompting Sony to release a cheaper Japanese-exclusive console.

Meanwhile, it was similarly reported that, in Europe, BO7 sold 50 percent fewer copies than Black Ops 6 did, and 63 percent less than what Battlefield 6 managed to accomplish during its opening weekend. Sony’s own figures paint a different picture.

Elsewhere, Rhys Elliot of Alinea Analytics told Eurogamer that the series was “underperforming” this year. Without the full scope of digital and physical sales, it’s impossible to say one way or the other, but it certainly seems like Call of Duty’s epic downfall has been greatly exaggerated, and though sales are likely down across the board in some way, it isn’t enough to not make the title a bestseller. Whether that’s good enough for the powers that be is a whole different story.
