There’s only one question everyone wants to ask George R.R. Martin. The author has been toiling away on Winds of Winter, admitting that it’s taking way longer than he thought it would.
Things have come to such a state that someone even asked him if another author will take over if he dies before it’s finished.
As you can imagine, Martin is probably sick of people asking him about the book. He probably has to hear about it everywhere he goes. So, when one fan asked him to sign a copy of Elden Ring, the author was seemingly “confused”. Perhaps he wasn’t expecting anyone to ask about anything else besides Winds of Winter.
Game Of Thrones Author Was Confused When Fan Asked Him To Sign A Copy Of Elden Ring
“I got George R.R. Martin to sign my Elden Ring copy,” said a Reddit post by ZeroOnePhi. “He seemed so confused when I pulled this up, asked me if I liked the game. Unfortunately didn’t manage to get any questions about lore in because there were too many people and not enough time. The Winds of Winter ain’t coming any time soon but he “knows how the story will end”. Top geezer tho.”
To geezer indeed! Martin worked alongside FromSoftware on the world-building and initial lore for Elden Ring. He helped craft the base upon which The Lands Between and everything that followed was built upon. While he won’t be involved much in the upcoming movie, he definitely has a big hand in how successful the game has been.
Nightreign might be more important to the story of Elden Ring than we first thought.
It is a bit strange that he was confused when asked to sign a copy of the game. Perhaps it was so long ago that he doesn’t even remember working on it. Alternatively, perhaps he was just confused that ZeroOnePhi asked him about Elden Ring instead of Winds of Winter like everyone else. However, based on this post, it looks like he’s figured out the most important part of the book: how it will end.
