Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has some tough battles, from the Paintress to Simon, and all the optional bosses in between, the game’s combat system will test your timing and decision-making. However, while these fights are tough, players have been struggling with an altogether different feature: the climbing challenges.
Across the overworld of the game, there are several Gestral beaches that don’t feature enemies, but rather difficult platforming challenges. Given that the game doesn’t really have a full-fledged parkour system, these challenges are pretty darn difficult. That hasn’t stopped fans from requesting the devs for one more, at one of the game’s most iconic spots.
The Toughest Climbing Challenge Yet
As a celebration of its Game of the Year win, Clair Obscur received a ton of new content, boss fights, and harder challenges. However, the game never let us fully explore Lumiere’s most recognizable location, the Eiffel Tower… or at least a warped version of it. With the number of scary climbing challenges we’ve seen, fans think it would have made a great final challenge.
Of course, much like the other challenges, it doesn’t look easily scalable at all, but that’s what would make it fun. One last climb to the top to get a great view of Lumiere and ponder on its future. While many fans on Reddit thought it was a good idea, others were terrified at the prospect of another climbing challenge.
In fact, some theorized an even more sadistic challenge, with Renoir waiting at the top, while you’d need to climb back up the tower every time you died in the fight.

The best part about this idea is that it fits into the narrative, depending on the ending you’ve chosen. The Gestrals make their way to Lumiere and set up a climbing challenge at the leaning tower of Eiffel. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Clair Obscur will be getting any more content for a while, but perhaps it could be added in a future DLC.
