A Baldur’s Gate 3 Player Had Added An Entirely New Voice Pack, Revoicing Every Custom Character Line

Baldur’s Gate 3’s character creator gets the job done, but it does have a good number of limitations. Whether it’s having to select preset heads or the fact that you can’t really change the body types much, it can make it a little hard to make our Tavs and Durges feel unique from one another.
We do have eight voice types to choose from – four that are feminine, four that are masculine – but there’s probably more than a few of us who have used them all at least once. Thankfully, one fan has come in with the solution: just create a new voice type entirely. And no, it doesn’t use AI.

Quinch’s Tav Voice Pack from Nexus Mods user Quinch gives you another masculine voice set, fully voiced by the creator themselves. It re-records all of the different lines and barks that the player character comes out with whenever they’re given a command, which is a huge undertaking.

Many are happy to see a new voice set added to Nexus Mods that isn’t AI slop. It also adds some variety to the sorts of voices on offer, with some feeling that this deeper tone suits their Tav better.
In any case, it stands as a testament to the dedication of the modding community. With absolutely no financial incentive, Quinch has fully voice-acted a character for us and has made it available to download for free. Hopefully, efforts like this can stand out in a crowd that is often flooded with content “made” through generative AI.

This is far from the only mod on offer if you want to add more options to the character creator. At this point, I don’t even know how many cosmetic mods I’ve installed. Too many. That is the answer. I get lost whenever I go to the mirror to change my girl’s makeup. Most of these cosmetics mods are available on console, too, alongside a wave of others which can make your next run feel a little more unique.
