Haven Smith is a freelance creative and professional writing with a huge focus on fantasy novels and video game articles. He has over five years of personal writing experience, three years of personal editing experience, and a passion for writing of all kinds. In personal accomplishments alone, Haven is currently hard at work on a 103k word fantasy novel. Professionally, Haven strives to provide fun, clearly written, and factual articles about the games he plays, and help the reader progress further in them. His current specialty in videogames is the cozy life-sim game Disney Dreamlight Valley, his new obsession in the genre. When Haven isn’t working on writing projects such as novels or game articles, his time is spent gaming, either playing Disney Dreamlight Valley for fun and to continue providing helpful guides, or one of the many other games he enjoys. Two of his partners in writing (and the occasional bit of mischief) include his pair of cats, Zell and Penelo, both named after Final Fantasy Characters.

With how Speranzans have to live underground in Arc Raiders to avoid ARC, the vast majority of food production is done beneath the earth, and all their crops are grown in special greenhouses that can function without natural sunlight. Unfortunately, thanks to the devastation above ground, the number and types of crops are limited.

Only the hardiest plants could survive naturally, and few of those cultivated in labs managed to survive the destruction or could be replicated. Seems like a new, potential source of food or medical care is growing in the Dam Battlegrounds, and Lance is looking for a brave Raider to pick up a sample so he can do some testing on it.

Where To Find The Potentially Poisonous Plant

A New Type Of Plant is one of Lance’s quests, and it’s unlocked by completing the previous quest from Apollo, Building A Library. This one needs to be completed in one round, or else the progress resets, and the location you’re going to is Dam Battlegrounds.

Head to the swamp region on the western side of the map and go to the Old Battleground area, then look for the giant Baron Husk in the middle of all the other debris.

The Baron’s main body can be breached and searched for loot like ARC Alloys and ARC Flex Rubber, but you need to breach it, then run back, as it will detonate and burst into flames before it’s safely lootable, causing heavy damage to you if you’re caught in the fire.

Near the main part of the Baron’s body, you’ll see a few knee-high plants with three red-orange flower clusters on the top, but the one you need specifically is just beneath the Baron’s body.

Interact with the flower to collect a sample for Lance, then return to Speranza when you’re ready. Speak to Lance at his medical clinic to turn in the quest, and as a reward, you’ll get some EXP, one Vita Shot, and five Antiseptics, which are used to upgrade your Medical Lab and craft several healing items.
