Arc Raiders Infamous Door Glitch Has Pushed The Community To Their Breaking Point

The community of Arc Raiders has become incredibly frustrated with a well-known exploit involving doors and key cards.
Those who have played Arc Raiders will know the extraction shooter’s various maps contain lootable key cards that correspond with doors dotted around the map. The loot locked behind these doors is often superior to loot found in regular areas, making key cards a valuable find in the field.
Locks Are Negotiable
However, a now-infamous door glitch eliminates the need for key cards altogether. As seen in the video above (from LancesEmporium), a player can access these locked rooms without key cards by simply ramming themselves against the locked door. It’s even easier with a teammate, because the collision triggered by a teammate leaping into the back of you can propel you through the door and into the loot room. The player in the room can then unlock the door from the inside.
You can imagine the frustration this causes for the player base, because the team who finds the key card might arrive at the corresponding door to find the place has already been cleaned out. The community has been calling for Embark to ban these players for bug abuse, especially if they can’t fix the exploit any time soon.
“Let’s just ban people doing this to be honest. It needs to get fixed, and it’s obviously not a simple [fix] as it would’ve been done by now,” writes the streamer Klean.
The community is growing increasingly impatient, as the memes on the game’s subreddit are starting to get more terse in tone. It’s certainly a problem that’s worth hot-fixing before the next patch, but Embark is obviously having trouble addressing the source of the glitch.
On the surface, adding deeper collision detection on the door seems like it would fix the problem. However, Arc Raiders’ collision system could be complex and reliant on other systems; there’s no way to tell without seeing the code.

It seems unlikely that Embark will begin banning people for bug abuse, which means the studio is further incentivized to fix the problem quickly to silence the complaints of the community.
