Where Winds Meet’s first major storyline, Heaven Has No Pier, takes the player through the Qinghe region, where they grow their legend and develop their skills. This questline ends with For Whom Does He Return, a long quest that culminates in a boss fight against Qianye the Witch, also known as Heartseeker.
This Witch has trapped the peaceful village of Blissful Retreat in a maze, and it’s up to you to defeat her. Up to this point, Qianye will probably be the most difficult boss you’ll have faced, so you’ll want to take things slowly. Below, we’ll take you through a full walkthrough of this boss fight, including which of Qianye’s attacks to be wary of.
Qianye The Witch Boss Fight Walkthrough
The first part of this fight plays out almost exactly the same as the Heartseeker boss fight from earlier in the story. Qianye will use many of the same moves, including wide, sweeping scythe attacks and overhead swings. These attacks are fairly easy to see coming, so you shouldn’t have too many problems getting the parry timing down.
Repeatedly parrying her attacks will quickly drain her Qi gauge, letting you get in massive bursts of damage. Overall, this phase should go by pretty quickly, especially if you’ve been practicing against Heartseeker in the Boss Challenge version.
Phase 2
Once you’ve depleted Qianye’s health bar, she will send you to a mirror dimension, where you’ll face her powered-up form. In this phase, Qianye will use wide, sweeping scythe attacks while gliding around the arena as she attempts to strike at your flank. Luckily, these can be parried with the right timing, so don’t be fooled by the way she moves.
Many of her animations are similar to the first phase, but with an added attack at the end, or the attack will deal more damage. The main thing to keep in mind is how long some attack animations go for, even when it seems like it’s completed. Watch out for extra strikes at the end of combos.
Also during this phase, Qianye will begin charging energy into her scythe, holding it behind her. When this happens, you can use Meridian Touch when the prompt appears to knock the boss back and get some added hits in. If you fail to use the Mystic Art in time, you’ll be hit by several waves of energy, dealing high damage and inflicting Burn on you.
Once Qianye reaches about 50 percent health remaining, she will slam into the ground, dealing damage in a wide area, then send you to the reverse side of the arena, where you’ll fight her true form.
Phase 3
White Qianye is even more elusive than her red version, repeatedly vanishing and reappearing just before she swings her scythe, giving you only a split-second to react.

Her main combo begins with her holding her scythe almost parallel to her body, then swinging it around in a circle before vanishing into the air. Half a second later, she will appear right above you, swinging her scythe down, before disappearing and reappearing for another two sweeping attacks, before finally reappearing in front of you, finishing the combo with a decisive diagonal cut.
While this assault is extremely dangerous, it’s pretty much White Qianye’s only method of attack. This means if you can get the parry timing down on this attack, you’ll be set for the remainder of the fight.
