Where Winds Meet has several weapon types to choose from, allowing you to wield two at a time to create your character’s build. Some weapons have synergistic effects, while others allow you to specialize as a healer for co-op content. Or, you can just use whichever two weapons you like the most.
While you’ll get some weapons by default, unlocking every type of Weapon Martial Art will take some exploration. If you’re looking for how to unlock weapons like the Soulshade Umbrella, Inkwell Fan, or Strategic Sword, you’ve come to the right place. Below, we’ll go over how to unlock every type of weapon in the game, as well as how to get the Dragon Keys you’ll need to find some of them.
How To Unlock Every Weapon Martial Art
There are seven types of weapons in Where Winds Meet, but several weapons have different Martial Arts associated with them, granting a different set of skills. For example, the Nameless Sword and the Strategic Sword are both accessed by equipping a sword to your character, but each provides different skills.
Here’s every type of Weapon Martial Art, and the various methods for unlocking them.
Perform Skill Theft in the Strategic Sword Sanctum in Encircling Lake in southern Qinghe.
Perform Skill Theft in the Midnight Mercy Sanctum in the eastern part of Crimson Cliff in Qinghe.
Choose when submitting your first Oddity to Qi Sheng.
Join the Midnight Blades Sect.
Perform Skill Theft in the Heavenquaker Spear Sanctum in Wildmane Ranch in Sundara Land, northeast Qinghe.
Join the Raging Tides Sect.
Perform Skill Theft in Inkwell Fan Sanctum in Floral Expanse Beyond in northern Sundara Land, Qinghe.
Join the Silver Needle Sect.
Perform Skill Theft in Well of Heaven Martial Camp in Peace Bell Tower in Moonveil Mountains, Qinghe.
Choose when submitting your first Oddity to Qi Sheng.
Join the Well of Heaven Sect.
Infiltrate the Nine Mortal Ways Sect and perform Skill Theft in Nanmen Avenue, Kaifeng City.
Join the Nine Mortal Ways Sect.
Once you join a Sect and learn its weapon Martial Art, you can simply leave the Sect and join another to learn more Martial Arts. You’ll keep everything you earned by joining the Sect, including Martial Arts and cosmetics.
Leaving a Sect will make you undertake a round of Perception Forest, where other players will try to kill you for bonus rewards. After you leave your current Sect, you can then immediately join any other Sect, except for the one you just left.
Some Sanctums require a Dragon Key to enter, meaning you’ll need to get one before you can steal the skill from the master. You can get Dragon Keys by reaching Solo Mode level two, completing the Skill Theft: Unearned Lesson quest, or clearing the Bloomveil Monastery, Gourmand’s Grove, and Tiger Fort Outposts for the first time.

Each Sanctum has similar rules. You’ll need to sneak your way through the area and find the master in the depths of the Sanctum, then watch them as they perform the Martial Art. To steal their skill, you’ll need to press the observation button when the ring turns gold. Do this enough times, and you’ll learn all the skills necessary to use the Martial Art yourself.
The Mystic Art Touch of Death makes exploring these Sanctums much easier, as it lets you instantly knock out unaware enemies.
Once you’ve successfully performed Skill Theft, you’ll be able to use the Martial Art while equipped with the applicable weapon.
