They studied Games Development at University and decided to put that knowledge to use writing about them instead of making them. They are also a digital photographer aficionado and waste most of their time taking silly in-game images.

There’s always so much going on in Where Winds Meet to make you feel incredibly overstimulated, and that’s not even accounting for the antics of other players in online mode. There’s some little mystery or activity around every corner, and the mysterious Bell of Demoncalm is another of those, without even an associated quest to explain it.

If you happen to come across it, your character makes it clear that you can repair it, though they don’t make it immediately clear how exactly you’re intended to do so. However, it’s a genuinely incredibly helpful thing to do as it can make many other activities even easier to complete in turn. It’s just going to take you a good while to actually get that missing part.

Where Is The Bell Of Demoncalm?

The Bell of Demoncalm is found pretty centrally in Qinghe, right on top of Moonveil Mountain. It is specifically found on the very top floor of the Peace Bell Tower, though it’s pretty hard to miss it considering it’s the defining feature of the Moonveil Mountain area.

The thing is you can’t just climb to the very top floor of the Peace Bell Tower from the outside as the Bell of Demoncalm is found on the topmost floor on the interior. That said, you can still make your way up most of the floor and then just enter through the open windows. Or you can take it the long way by weaving around inside, your choice.

Once you reach that top floor, the Bell of Demoncalm will be awaiting, albeit in a sorry state.

Upon seeing the bell, you’ll note that it’s missing a rather significant chunk of itself, stopping the bell itself from being rung. Upon examining it though, your character will announce it can very much be repaired. You just need the piece that fits it. Sadly, it is not in the tower, nor is it an item you can just come across.

If you examine the bell, it will tell you the piece you’re missing, and if you examine that piece, it will also tell you exactly where you can get it.

You may have met him already when you first started the game and then subsequently forgotten about him entirely, but early on, around where the first Wayfarer of the Verdant Wilds area is, there is Qi Sheng just a small distance past him on the way towards General’s Shrine. Qi Sheng runs another of the games myriad systems, which are the Melodies of Peace.

The Melodies of Peace is a large web of diagrams that offer various bonuses, such as increased Vitality and Endurance, as well as whole new abilities, such as the Wallstride Lightness skill. And at the very end of the Melodies of Peace is the Bronze Bell Fragment, exactly what you need to repair the Bell of Demoncalm.

You don’t need to unlock every node in the Melodies of Peace, mind you, just the necessary ones that unlock the node after it.

To unlock nodes in the Melodies of Peace, you need to submit the Oddities you collect. And what are Oddities? They’re the various, well, oddities you find across the world. Things like Dagger Generals, those poisonous purple flowers, the red mushrooms, the Whisper Hives, and so on.

Collecting Oddities

As you advance through the nodes of the Melodies of Peace, the subsequent nodes will start demanding more and more Oddities to advance. The one benefit here is that you can offer any Oddities you want. No node every requests a specific type of Oddity, meaning you can gather up as many as you like without trying to seek out specific ones.

Oddities are shown on the minimap as small insects like butterflies. However, they only appear on the minimap, not the world map, meaning you need to be fairly close for them to even show up. A great tactic here is to unlock a Grand Lightness skill first, like Meteor Flight. This lets you dash across the map at high speed, and you can drop down anytime an Oddity shows up on the minimap while you’re in flight.

There are a finite number of Oddities in the game, so check the Sentient Beings section of the Journal to make sure there are still Oddities left for you to find in any given region.

Repairing The Bell Of Demoncalm

After you’ve given in enough Oddities to Qi Sheng to unlock the Bronze Bell Fragment, you can head on back to Peace Bell Tower. In fact, Qi Sheng will even say as much to you.

Repairing the Demoncalm Bell is simple, though maybe not in the way you would think. Rather than submitting the item as you normally would, you actually have to slot the Bronze Bell Fragment in yourself in Construction Mode. When you try to submit the item, it will automatically bring up Contruction Mode.

All you have to do is select the Bronze Bell Fragment and click on the green outline on the Bell of Demoncalm to pop in the fragment, fully repairing the bell. Just exit Construction Mode to continue.

What Does The Bell Of Demoncalm Do?

By interacting with the Bell of Demoncalm now, you will ring it, allowing its sound to be heard across the entire region of Qinghe. This will, as the completion title drop shows you, nerf the world bosses around the region.

This does exactly what it claims, weakening them permanently. If you check any world boss on the map it will even show that the Bell of Demoncalm has taken effect on them. So if you were struggling with any of those bosses, the Bell of Demoncalm should help make them at least a little bit more manageable.

To get the most out of Pardon Parades in Where Winds Meet, here is exactly how to use them to obtain in-game rewards.
