A Strange New Easter Egg Has Been Discovered In Red Dead Redemption 2, But Fans Have No Idea What It Means

Red Dead Redemption 2 may be more than seven years old now, but that hasn’t stopped fans from discovering a brand new mystery that has everyone scrambling for answers.
Without a doubt, Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the biggest and most talked-about games of all time. With that and its nearly eight years on the market in mind, you would think that pretty much every detail, mystery, easter egg, and secret had long been uncovered and discussed by fans.
For a long time now, that’s been assumed to be the case, with most Rockstar fans agreeing that the Old West had been completely covered by now. As it turns out, though, that isn’t actually true, as a mysterious new easter egg has recently been uncovered, even if no one is really sure what it means just yet.
After 7 Years, A Brand New And Weird Easter Egg Has Been Found In Red Dead Redemption 2
Not That Anyone Has A Clue What It Means
As highlighted by Twitter user SynthPotato and originally shared by YouTuber Strange Man, the Red Dead Redemption 2 community has recently been rocked by the discovery of what looks like a new mystery to solve. The mystery in question revolves around a spider symbol that was found hanging on a telegraph pole in the Heartlands.
To this day, Red Dead Redemption’s final chapter unnerves me more than most horror games.
Overlaying that symbol on top of Red Dead Redemption 2’s map has led fans to eight other telegraph poles, each with its own spider web and a feather (which can apparently be shot off). That’s just the start of it too, as the centre of the spider symbol map leads to a tree with the letter N and a drawing of, you guessed it, another telegraph pole.
So far, it’s pretty obviously not just Red Dead fans finding mysteries out of nothing, as Rockstar clearly put the easter egg together. So far, the mystery has ended after a final message was discovered at a telegraph pole, which shows a guitar symbol and the letters “NW”, which no one has been able to figure out so far.
In case you’re wondering how this easter egg has been hiding in Red Dead Redemption 2 for so long, Synth Potato points out that without knowing what to look for, searching through the game’s files for something as small as a spider web wouldn’t exactly discover anything.
Some fans have figured that the easter egg is leading to Fort Wallace, which is Northwest of the final message, but nothing notable has been discovered aside from some guitars. It seems that the mystery still has a ways to go before being solved, but it’s nice to see that Red Dead Redemption 2 still has some tricks up its sleeve after so long.

Bold of you to assume there’s an actual solution or payoff to it at all. Rockstar loves putting in unsolvable mysteries or references that never go anywhere. Most famous, of course, being Mt. Chiliad.

The mystery doesn’t currently end at the guitars, it ends at Dodd’s Bluff, I reckon.

Stuff like this is why i feel RDR2 is still the greatest open world game we’ve ever gotten and idk how they’ll ever top it. Ive put over a thousand hours through multiple playthroughs into this game (most of which was just riding around finding new things) and every single time it blows me away that a team managed to do all this for one game. A game that’s now 8 (!!!!) years old and still looks better than the majority of newer games we get. Rockstar really know how to shoot when they’re motivated. So cool.
