Haven Smith is a freelance creative and professional writing with a huge focus on fantasy novels and video game articles. He has over five years of personal writing experience, three years of personal editing experience, and a passion for writing of all kinds. In personal accomplishments alone, Haven is currently hard at work on a 103k word fantasy novel. Professionally, Haven strives to provide fun, clearly written, and factual articles about the games he plays, and help the reader progress further in them. His current specialty in videogames is the cozy life-sim game Disney Dreamlight Valley, his new obsession in the genre. When Haven isn’t working on writing projects such as novels or game articles, his time is spent gaming, either playing Disney Dreamlight Valley for fun and to continue providing helpful guides, or one of the many other games he enjoys. Two of his partners in writing (and the occasional bit of mischief) include his pair of cats, Zell and Penelo, both named after Final Fantasy Characters.
For humanity’s largest group of survivors in ARC Raiders, it’s beyond important to maintain access to necessities like food and water. Food is primarily grown underground in greenhouses, but water is partially obtained from the still-intact water facilities left topside.
Normally, they’re fine as they are. ARC isn’t concerned with these facilities unless people show up to them, the buildings are mostly intact, and things run smoothly overall. Unfortunately, someone has tried to poison the water being sent into Speranza, and such a crime can’t go unpunished. Shani needs you to investigate and find out what you can, so this doesn’t happen again.
Where To Find Evidence Of Sabotage
A Toxic Trail is a continuation of the events in The Source Of Contamination, and the first thing you’ll need to do is head to Water Treatment Control on Dam Battlegrounds. Walk around to the northern side of the building, and find the sloped section with the large gated intake near the edge of the swamp.
Apollo’s quest, Paving The Way, is unlocked at the same time and requires you to visit Dam Battlegrounds, so make sure to grab his quest as well, so you can make progress in both of them.
Go along the edge of the intake or hop into the water near the poison barrel from the previous quest, and you’ll complete the first objective.
Head west into the swamp once the next objective is active, then slightly south to find an abandoned truck with several barrels strapped to the back in the middle of a nearby pond.
Approach the barrels to get a prompt to take a photo of them, then move to the front of the truck to get the second prompt to investigate it.

This will complete the quest, and now you can return to Speranza from the nearby Swamp Lift if it’s still active. Speak to Shani, and you’ll get a reward of some EXP, a Tactical MK. 2 Augment, three Ziplines, three Pulse Mines, and three Gas Mines.
