Arc Raiders’ winter event is now live, which means it’s time to brave the cold, throw some snowballs, and earn some new cosmetics. One of the biggest additions is the new Flickering Flames project, which functions similarly to the Expeditions.
Players will need to hunt down various materials and donate them to progress further. One of these items is the Water Filter, which I’m sure like me, you basically ignore or recycle the moment you get it. Here are some of the best places to find Water Filters so you can progress past step four.
Where To Find Water Filters
When it comes to finding Water Filters, you actually have a few solid options for tracking them down. Designated as an Industrial item, this gives it a pretty broad range of spawn locations across most of the five maps. Here are some of the best places I like to go, specifically when looking for Water Filters:
Water Treatment Control and Power Generation Complex on Dam Battlegrounds
Of these locations, the points of interest on Dam Battlegrounds are definitely the best option. Unsurprisingly, Water Treatment Control is great for finding Water Filters, as this industrial structure is filled with breachable containers and lootable rooms, making it great for finding rare Industrial materials — especially during Night or Cold Snap raids.
Up north, the Power Generation Complex is another great place on this map. Specifically, the basement rooms have a ton of loot you can find. Just be cautious, as there is usually at least one team lurking about this area at any time.
If you want to visit a different map, Spaceport’s Vehicle Maintenance and Container Storage are great places to look for Water Filters. Both have a wealth of breachable metal boxes, which are one of the most typical containers you’ll find Water Filters inside. I personally like Container Storage, as the rooms on the top floor have a ton of loot, while the lowest floor is filled with vehicles and containers you can break into.

Finally, if you don’t mind a little risk, the Loading Bay in Stella Montis has a surprising amount of gear. The only issue is that you’ll need to deal with the Bastion that spawns on the bottom floor. However, if you can get rid of this ARC, there are a ton of bins and shipping containers you can loot. Plus, the room is broken up across three floors, making it rich with materials, but it comes at the cost of risk from both ARC and PvP-minded players.
Regardless of where you choose to hunt, I suggest looking for Water Filters during the new Cold Snap event. This is not only because all the places you need to hunt are indoors, but this event also raises the rarity of loot you’ll find, making Water Filters much more common. I also suggest bringing an actual Augment, since you can put the Water Filter in your Safe Pocket as a fail-safe in case you die!
