Where Winds Meet is set in a beautiful, historical open world and merges combat, exploration, and puzzle-solving. The intricate puzzle mechanics follow from region to region, and one of the most unique types you’ll find out in the mythical landscape is the Meow Meow.
After entering and exploring Kaifeng, you’ll eventually come across familiar feline faces in the form of magical cats in clothes, offering you rewards for completing puzzles and tasks. These Meow Meows are a whimsical addition to a vibrant fantasy game. Find out where to track down these task givers below.
How To Complete Shadow Chase Meow Meow
A test of your agility, the Shadow Chase Meow Meow, requires you to run, jump, and climb towards the checkpoint given by the magical Meow Meow. The route to the checkpoint is laid out by fiery blue icons like the wisps from other Meow Meow puzzles; however, unlike the wisps collection, you must pass through the previous checkpoint to progress onto the next one. Doubling back will likely mean you need to restart.
In the Fairgrounds area of the city map, on the roof near the Caomen Avenue Boundary Stone.
To the right of the Harmonic Span Boundary Stone at the entrance to South Gate Avenue.
Across the bridge from the South Imperial Garden Boundary Stone in the North Imperial Garden courtyard.
Face the cat to begin this puzzle; otherwise, you will need to turn around, which costs time.
East of the South Imperial Garden and along the river towards Masterwood Hamlet.
East of the Ever-Normal Granary and along the path from the Autumn Dusk Retreat Boundary Stone, next to a gazebo.
At the top of the northern area of the Gracetown lake, between the two villages.
East of the restricted area, Lin Terrace in Properity Haven, and near the edge of the river.

East of the Grand Imperial Temple Boundary Stone, next to the Crafting Zone and Wang’s Woodcraft.
Press down the left joystick on a controller or G on a PC keyboard to leap to the next checkpoint.
A new puzzle for the Kaifeng region requires you to investigate the stone tablets near the Meow Meow and decipher the inscription. After working out where the bells are from the inscriptions, locate and use your bow to fire arrows at the charm-like targets.
The bells are in a shape of a cat’s face and are always around the Meow Meow area.
North of the Grand Imperial Temple Boundary Stone and east of the bridge to the palace.
In the northern area of the Martial Temple and west of the Martial Temple Boundary Stone.
You can see all the bells from where the cat sits. They hang over the entrance of the buildings around the temple.
Northwest of Gracetown near the edge of the map. The closest fast-travel location is the South Gracetown Boundary Stone.
Located above the stone tablet, fire your arrows at the bells from smallest to largest.
East from the Palace of Supreme Oneness Boundary Stone at the end of the bridge over the river.
East of the Grand Imperial Temple, across the bridge towards the right edge of the map.
A logic puzzle consisting of balancing scales, this Meow Meow tests your patience and mental skills by asking you to use a mixture of different weights to get the correct weight measurements. Simple in concept but often frustrating in practice, these Meow Meows ask for nothing short of perfection.
Southeast of the Buddha Statue Site Boundary Stone and north of the Martial Temple.
North of the Grand Imperial Temple Boundary Stone in the medical building, around NPCs. To the right of the entrance to the Imperial Palace.
If you’ve completed or had a go at the Qinghe Meow Meow puzzles, then the shimmery blue wisps that appear on your travels won’t be anything new. The collection is the same as in the previous region, with the addition of plum blossom stakes to really test your leap and balance.
Located outside the south buildings in Martial Temple. The closest fast travel location is the Secret Edict Chamber Boundary Stone.
West of the Central Mistveil Forest Boundary Stone towards the west edge of the forest itself.
These two types of Meow Meows consist of a color-mixing puzzle and, also from the Qinghe region, chasing down a fleeing cat. You have one minute to follow and catch the cat as the timer counts down.
East of the Palace of Supreme Oneness Boundary Stone and across the water from Prosperity Haven.
Southwest of the Velvet Shade Boundary Stone and in the courtyard amongst the large buildings.
The name of the dye will be in the color you need to mix, making it easy to replicate.
Two unique Meow Meow puzzles, the All Things Have A Spirit task gives you the opportunity to play detective and work out what each shrine would like as an offering, while the Transport And Organize puzzle lets you offer a helping hand to two very tired stone workers.
East of the Kaifeng Prefecture Prison landmark and among the buildings. Near the NPCs Shi Gu and Xiaowu.
West of the Imperial Works Bureau Boundary Stone and at the end of the bridge near the city walls.
Pick up the three lanterns and place them on the round platforms around the stones.
Two of the round platforms are on the floor by the shopkeepers, and the last is by the cat and cart.
Play a game of word connections and work out riddles during the Secrets Concealed In River Lanterns puzzle while Relief Grain sends you on a journey as a good Samaritan, delivering food to those who need it most.
North of Velvet Shade near the Fireworks Show. Top right of the city map at a pond and a small waterfall.
East of Petalfall Crossing, within the South Imperial Garden buildings by the river.
Read the riddle and deliver food to three people following the highlighted clues.
A man hiding in a barrel by the river, another in a dilapidated second-story shack, and a third on a long plank of scaffolding. All in the Forsaken Quarter.
Become a cat whisperer in Where Winds Meet. Locate and befriend 21 hidden kittens in the Qinghe area.
