Where Winds Meet has an absolutely massive amount of side quests hidden away in every corner of its expansive world, with Kaifeng City being home to dozens of them alone. As you explore the city, you may come across the Lost Chapter One Leaf, One Life, which explores a few groups of residents of the city.
This questline will have you exploring the city and helping out with various tasks while learning about the lives of a few key characters. Below, we’ll go over every part of this quest, including how to start it and how to complete all three of its parts.
How To Start One Leaf, One Life
To start One Leaf, One Life, head to the Hopewell Academy Boundary Stone in Keifeng City. There, you’ll find a burning shop and a group of onlookers, which will start the first quest of Phase 1.
One Leaf, One Life is divided into three Phases. In each Phase, you’ll be tasked with gathering leaves by completing a variety of quests to unlock the next set of quests.
Here is how to get all Dragon Keys at various Where Winds Meet locations, and the locations of where to use them for hidden Weapon Martial Arts.
First, talk to the arguing couple outside their burning shop, then listen to the gossip nearby. Next, eavesdrop on the strange person and his associates by standing a short distance away. They’ll clue you in on something going down at midday tomorrow.
After listening to their conversation, speak to the strange person directly, and tell him you’ll do the job.
Now, head to Tianjing Dock, then use the clock to change the time to Wu Hour of the next day. Talk to the Foreman, then follow the others to the site of the job.
Listen to the commotion, then head inside and investigate the food for yourself. Examine the ‘body’ outside, then follow the paper trail to the ‘mourners’. Here, listen to their conversation from outside, then head in and expose their crime.
Defeat the group of four criminals, then grab Lu San’er and parade him through time, having him confess to his crimes. Then, talk to Zhang Ankang about what happened.
Next, you’ll need to put everything together by combining phrases to answer the questions. Here’s the solution.
Where did those things come from? How did the bad ingredients make it to the kitchen?
After solving the puzzle, you’ll get the rest of the story over a few cutscenes. Watch these play out, and the first part of Feast of Leaves will be complete.
Tale Of Gold Leaves: Volume 1
Head to the east side of South Gate Avenue, where you’ll find a blind girl with three onlooking children. After listening to her story, talk to Zheng Ran, then follow her to her home.
Once there, talk to her again, then head outside to ask the neighbors about her dad, and then head back to Zheng Ran.
Follow the objective marker to the Immortal Tree, read the placard there, then chase the thief on the rooftop until he gets tired and stops. A short distance away, ask the boy about the gold leaf, then return to Zhou Ergou. Finally, head back to the elder at the tree to complete this quest.
Side Stories
Now, you’ll need to complete six Injustice Quests to gain white leaves so that you can unlock the next part of the story. Selecting each quest will give you an idea of where to look for them.
Defeat the two thugs, then heal Fu Wenshu’s injury through the healing minigame.
Trail the thief, freeze him with Meridian Touch, take back the stolen goods, follow the girl home, then talk to her mom.
Use Wind Sense to follow the footprints, defeat the thugs, then bring the girl back to her mom.
This is the final part of Phase 1: Strife in Every Corner. Go to the Elder Host’s home, listen to the conversation, try to return the coin bag to Zhang Ankang, then return to the home to finish the quest.
Phase 2: Lights Flicker In Every Home
Start by heading back to Zhang’s Eatery, then talk to Liu Xian, where you’ll learn that Zhang Ankang is at the Tianjing Dock. Talk to him there, then follow him for a bit, then finally give him the bag of coins.
Back at his shop, help him cook the Locust Leaf Noodles by performing various actions in the kitchen. Inspect the recipe, then head to Hopewell Academy to find Wu Caifeng, who’ll tell you how to fix the recipe.
Go to the Locust Tree, then change the time to You Hour. Pick a leaf from the tree, then head back to Zhang Ankang. Now, look for Lu San’er, fight off the thugs, then talk to him about the tree.
Find Zhou Juan, then pay some money for the full story. Talk to Liu Xian, then visit Jin’s Jewelry for more information. After talking to Jin Que, head back to Zhang’s Eatery and talk to Zhang Ankang to complete the quest.
Tale Of Gold Leaves: Volume 2
Start this quest at Jiang’s Teahouse, talk to Pinggu Wen, then read the storybook. Then, head to Hopewell Academy and talk to Chen Xuewu, who’ll ask you to locate his three missing students.
Zhen Lele and Hu Qiaoqiao are in an alley in the western part of the search area.
After finding the students, return to Chen Xuewu, then wait until night. Now, you’ll need to sneak into the Patrol and Inspection Agency. Climb on the roof and use Wind Sense to avoid the patrolling guards, then sneak into the building and gather information from three clues.
Now, you’ll need to put all the clues together.
After solving the mystery, find Zheng Ran in the eastern part of town. Eavesdrop on her and Granny Liu’s conversation, then talk to Granny Liu. Wait until Chen Hour, then go to Willow Bank to find Zheng Ran. Use Tai Chi to get the leaf, then talk to her to finish this quest.
Side Stories
This time, you’ll need to get five white leaves from side stories, but you have a few options as to how to tackle these. While you only need to complete five of the seven stories to unlock the next quest, you’ll eventually need to do all seven for the One Leaf, One Life Epilogue.
Chase off the thugs, talk to Jiang Zhaoyue, get some food, then bring it back to her.
Talk to Zhen Ping’an, find Fu Wenshu in Willow Bank, then take the prescription back to Zhen Ping’an near Hopewell Academy.
Head into the house through the window at the back, read the diary, wait until Zi Hour, then light the lamp.
Wait until You Hour, listen to Liu Fen, then follow the group to Zheng Ran. Listen to her story, then follow the group back to Zhang Ankang’s home.

Phase 3: Huang Liang At Every Hearth
Phase 3 works a little differently from the previous two as well. This time, you’ll be able to do all of the side stories before the final quest. To unlock the One Leaf, One Life Epilogue, you’ll need to complete these as well, so you may as well do them first.
Talk to Zhou Ergou, use the Praise emote toward Granny Chen, then talk to Zhou Ergou again.
Talk to Chen Mei, use Celestial Sieze to steal the blush, give it to Zhong Wenping, then talk to him.
Head to Zhang’s Eatery, then talk to Zhang Ankang, and then Zheng Ran, then skip time to You Hour of the next day.
Then, head to the feast at Tianjing Dock. After a short cutscene, fight off the groups of thugs, then watch the cutscene that follows to complete this quest.
Huang Liang At Every Hearth
Start by going to Zheng Ran’s house, then eavesdropping on her conversation. Then, head back to the Immortal Tree and listen to Ren Xiaoping. This will complete the Epilogue chapter of One Leaf, One Life, earning you the Gold Leaf accessory and the title Gold Leaf Warrior.
